Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. You can find the operator’s contact details in the section “Information about the controller” in this privacy policy.
How do we collect your data?
Some of your data is collected when you provide it to us. This may be, for example, data that you enter into a contact form.

External hosting is used for the purpose of fulfilling contracts with our potential and existing customers (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and in the interest of a secure, fast and efficient provision of our online services by a professional provider (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where corresponding consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG (German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act), insofar as the consent covers the storage of cookies or access to information on the user’s device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TDDDG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
We use the following host:

If you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR if special categories of data under Art. 9(1) GDPR are processed. In the case of express consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, data processing is also based on Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. If your data is required to fulfil a contract or to carry out pre-contractual measures, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Furthermore, we process your data where it is required to fulfil a legal obligation, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR. Data processing may also be based on our legitimate interest under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The relevant legal bases in each individual case are set out in the following paragraphs of this privacy policy.
Recipients of personal data
In the course of our business activities, we work with various external parties. In some cases, this also requires the transfer of personal data to these external parties. We only pass on personal data to external parties if this is necessary for the performance of a contract, if we are legally obliged to do so (e.g. passing on data to tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest in the disclosure under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or if another legal basis permits the disclosure. When using processors, we only pass on our customers’ personal data on the basis of a valid data processing agreement. In the case of joint processing, a joint processing agreement is concluded.
Withdrawal of your consent to data processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can withdraw consent you have already given at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.
Right to object to data collection in special cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
IF DATA PROCESSING IS BASED ON ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT AT ANY TIME TO OBJECT TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA CONCERNED UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21(1) GDPR).
IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING INSOFAR AS IT IS RELATED TO SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format.
Information, correction and deletion
Within the scope of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, where applicable, a right to correction or deletion of this data. You can contact us at any time about this and any other questions on the subject of personal data.
Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us about this at any time.
SSL/TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as enquiries you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL/TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock symbol in your browser bar.
Objection to advertising emails
We hereby object to the use of contact details published as part of our imprint obligation for sending advertising and information material that has not been expressly requested. The operators of these pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising information being sent, for example by spam emails.
4. Data collection on this website
Cookies
Our website uses so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your device. They are stored on your device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies). Technically necessary cookies are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Where other cookies are used (e.g. by embedded services), this is done on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG). You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases.
When you first visit this website, a self-hosted cookie banner appears in which you can make your choice (“Accept all”, “Necessary only” or granularly by the categories Necessary / Statistics / Marketing). No third-party consent management tool is used. Your choice is stored in your browser – in localStorage under the key ab_consent and additionally in the first-party cookie ac24_consent, so that the vehicle detail pages and the enquiry widget also know it. If you send us an enquiry via the vehicle or car buying widget, your choice is stored together with this enquiry by our processor Autegro as proof of your consent. You can reopen the banner at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer and change your choice with effect for the future.
To document consent given (Art. 7(1) GDPR), we log your choice anonymously (selected categories, timestamp, banner version, random identifier, page path — no IP address, no personal data). The legal basis for this logging is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
Server log files
The provider of these pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are: browser type and browser version, operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and the IP address. This data is not combined with other data sources. This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website.
Contact form
If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent. This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), if this has been requested.
Technically, your form enquiry is processed via a serverless function of our hosting provider Vercel and delivered to us as an email via the transactional email service Postmark (provider: AC PM LLC / ActiveCampaign, 1 North Dearborn Street, Chicago, IL 60602, USA). In the process, the form data you enter is transmitted to Postmark. Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission; a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR has been concluded with the provider. To protect the form against automated abuse, we use the self-hosted ALTCHA method (see the section “ALTCHA” under “Plugins and tools”).
Enquiries by email or phone
If you contact us by email or phone, your enquiry, including all resulting personal data (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Financing enquiries
If you enquire about vehicle financing via our contact form, by phone or in person, we transmit the necessary details to our partner bank, Santander Consumer Bank AG, Santander-Platz 1, 41061 Mönchengladbach. This is the only way the bank can review your enquiry and make you a financing offer.
The data transmitted includes, in particular, your name, your contact details and the vehicle and contract data relevant to the financing. Any credit check and any enquiry with credit agencies is carried out exclusively by the bank under its own responsibility; the bank will inform you separately about its data processing.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (carrying out pre-contractual measures at your request). Data is only transmitted if you expressly request financing — not for general vehicle or contact enquiries.
Communication via WhatsApp
Among other things, we use the instant messaging service WhatsApp to communicate with our customers and other third parties. The provider is WhatsApp Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland.
Communication is end-to-end encrypted. However, WhatsApp has access to metadata of the communication (e.g. sender, recipient, time) and, according to its own statements, shares personal data with its US parent company Meta. Details: https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/#privacy-policy.
WhatsApp is used on the basis of our legitimate interest in communicating as quickly and effectively as possible with customers, prospective customers and other business and contractual partners (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where corresponding consent has been requested, data processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of that consent, which can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future. Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission.
The communication content exchanged between you and us on WhatsApp remains with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage, or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been fully dealt with). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
The company is certified under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). Further information: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/7735.
5. Plugins and tools
Fonts (local hosting)
For consistent display, this site uses certain fonts that are installed locally. No connection is made to the servers of the respective provider (e.g. Google).
Google Maps
This site uses the mapping service Google Maps. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
The map is only loaded after you have consented to the “Marketing” category in the cookie banner. No connection to Google servers is made before you give your consent. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
To use the functions of Google Maps, it is necessary to store your IP address. This information is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transfer. Where consent has been obtained, Google Maps is used exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Otherwise, it is used on the basis of our legitimate interest in an appealing presentation of our online offers and in making the locations indicated on our website easy to find (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/gdprcontrollerterms/ and https://privacy.google.com/businesses/gdprcontrollerterms/sccs/.
For more information on the handling of user data, please see Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.
ALTCHA (spam protection for forms)
To protect our contact and enquiry forms against automated abuse, we use ALTCHA, a self-hosted proof-of-work method. The provider of the open-source widget is the Altcha Foundation; we operate all components exclusively on our own infrastructure.
Before a form is submitted, ALTCHA sets a cryptographic computing task that the user’s browser solves in the background. This makes mass enquiries uneconomical for automated spam bots, while regular users do not notice anything.
ALTCHA sets no cookies, uses no browser fingerprinting and transmits no personal data to third parties. No data is transferred to third countries.
It is used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its forms against misuse by bots. Further information: https://altcha.org/.
Autegro (vehicle stock & sell-your-car form)
We use the provider Autegro (app.autegro.de) to display our vehicle stock (home page and vehicles page) and to process car sale enquiries via the embedded sell-your-car form (home page and car buying page).
When these pages are accessed, technical data is transmitted to Autegro, including IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referrer URL and time of access, in order to deliver the vehicle list or the form.
If you request a vehicle valuation via the sell-your-car form, the details you enter are transmitted to Autegro in encrypted form (TLS) and stored there for the purpose of processing your enquiry. The data processed includes, in particular, first and last name, email address, phone number, vehicle data (e.g. make, model, VIN, mileage, first registration, transmission, fuel type), optionally your price expectation, and information on the condition of the vehicle.
The legal basis for the integration and data processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (initiation of a contract when buying a vehicle from you) and our legitimate interest in the efficient presentation of our stock (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Data processing on our behalf
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) with Autegro pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Autegro processes the data exclusively on our instructions. The data is not stored in a separate database of this website but is transmitted directly to Autegro.
6. Analytics tools and advertising
Google Tag Manager
We use Google Tag Manager. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Tag Manager is a tool that allows us to integrate tracking or statistics tools and other technologies into our website. Google Tag Manager itself does not create user profiles, does not store cookies and does not carry out any independent analyses. It only serves to manage and deliver the tools integrated via it. However, Google Tag Manager does record your IP address, which may also be transferred to Google’s parent company in the United States.
Google Tag Manager is only loaded once you have consented to the “Statistics” or “Marketing” category in the cookie banner. Before you give your consent, no connection to Google is established and your IP address is not transmitted. It is used exclusively on the basis of your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG; consent can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future via “Cookie settings” in the footer.
The company is certified under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). Further information: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/5780.
Google Analytics 4
This website uses functions of the web analytics service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics enables us to analyse the behaviour of website visitors. In doing so, we receive various usage data, such as page views, time spent on the site, operating systems used and the origin of the user. The data collected by Google Analytics about the use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. By default, Google Analytics 4 does not log IP addresses or truncates them before processing.
Google Analytics is only loaded if you have consented to the “Statistics” category in the cookie banner. It is used exclusively on the basis of your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Google. Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission and Google’s DPF certification.
For more information on how Google Analytics handles user data, please see Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=de.
Google Ads
The website operator uses Google Ads. Google Ads is an online advertising programme of Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Ads enables us to display advertisements in the Google search engine or on third-party websites when the user enters certain search terms on Google (keyword targeting). Targeted advertisements can also be displayed on the basis of user data available to Google (e.g. location data and interests) (audience targeting). As the website operator, we can evaluate this data quantitatively, for example by analysing which search terms led to our advertisements being displayed and how many advertisements led to corresponding clicks.
Google Ads is only loaded if you have consented to the “Marketing” category in the cookie banner. This service is used exclusively on the basis of your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://policies.google.com/privacy/frameworks and https://business.safety.google/controllerterms/.
The company is certified under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). Further information: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/5780.
Google Ads Remarketing
This website uses the functions of Google Ads Remarketing. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
With Google Ads Remarketing, we can assign people who interact with our online offering to specific target groups in order to subsequently show them interest-based advertising in the Google advertising network (remarketing or retargeting). Furthermore, the advertising target groups created with Google Ads Remarketing can be linked to Google’s cross-device functions. In this way, interest-based, personalised advertising messages that have been tailored to you based on your previous usage and browsing behaviour on one device (e.g. mobile phone) can also be displayed on another of your devices (e.g. tablet or PC).
If you have a Google account, you can object to personalised advertising via the following link: https://adssettings.google.com/anonymous?hl=de.
Google Ads Remarketing is only loaded if you have consented to the “Marketing” category in the cookie banner. This service is used exclusively on the basis of your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Further information and the data protection provisions can be found in Google’s privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads?hl=de.
Google Conversion Tracking
This website uses Google Conversion Tracking. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
With the help of Google Conversion Tracking, Google and we can recognise whether the user has carried out certain actions. For example, we can evaluate which buttons on our website are clicked how often and which vehicles were viewed or enquired about particularly frequently. This information is used to create conversion statistics. We learn the total number of users who clicked on our ads and which actions they carried out. We do not receive any information with which we can personally identify the user. Google itself uses cookies or comparable recognition technologies for identification.
Google Conversion Tracking is only loaded if you have consented to the “Marketing” category in the cookie banner. This service is used exclusively on the basis of your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
For more information on Google Conversion Tracking, please see Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=de.
Meta Pixel (formerly Facebook Pixel)
This website uses the Meta Pixel for conversion measurement and advertising purposes. The provider of this service is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland. According to Meta, however, the data collected is also transferred to the USA and other third countries.
This allows the behaviour of site visitors to be tracked after they have been redirected to the provider’s website by clicking on a Facebook or Instagram advertisement. This enables the effectiveness of the advertisements to be evaluated for statistical and market research purposes and future advertising measures to be optimised. The data collected is anonymous to us; however, Meta can link it to your user account and use it for its own advertising purposes.
The Meta Pixel is only loaded if you have consented to the “Marketing” category in the cookie banner. It is used exclusively on the basis of your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG; consent can be withdrawn at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer. Insofar as personal data is collected on our website with the help of the tool described here and forwarded to Meta, we and Meta Platforms Ireland Limited are jointly responsible for this data processing (Art. 26 GDPR); the joint responsibility is governed by the “Controller Addendum”: https://www.facebook.com/legal/controller_addendum. Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission and Meta’s DPF certification.
